NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

BEFORE THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND APPEALS

             OF THE CITY OF BLUE MOUND, TEXAS

To all property owners located within 200 feet of 501 Globe Ave, Lot 1 Block 9 of the Saginaw Park Addition, notice is hereby given that the Board of Adjustment and Appeals (BAA) of the City of Blue Mound, Texas will hold a public hearing at 6:30 P.M. on the 20th  day of October, 2020, at the City Council Chambers, located at 301 Blue Mound Rd S, Blue Mound, Texas, 76131. All interested parties are invited to attend.

 

The Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 211, requires the City to notify every property owner located within 200 feet of a requested variance. The Board of Adjustment shall mail notices of such hearing to the petitioner and the owner of the property lying within two hundred feet (200') of any point of the lot or portion thereof, on which a variation is desired, and to all persons deemed by the Board of Adjustment to be affected, such Owners and persons shall be determined according to the current tax rolls of the City and substantial compliance therewith shall be deemed sufficient, provided, however, that the depositing of such written notice in the mail by the Board of Adjustment shall be deemed sufficient compliance with the purpose of this matter. According to our records you are the owner of the property lying within two hundred feet (200') of any point of the lot or portion thereof.

 

At such time and place, the BAA will hear a variance request to Exhibit A Zoning Ordinance, Section 7 "B” One-Family District B, Use Regulations Subsection a, Permitted Uses, subsection #3 for a variance into the five (5) feet required side yard a distance of four (4) feet for a metal carport and to allow a covered walkway encroaching into the required front yard no more than seven (7) feet out towards the street, by nine (9) feet wide. The subject property is located at 501 Globe Ave, further described as Lot 1R, Block 9, of the Saginaw Park Addition, City of Blue Mound, Texas.  

 

According to the Texas Local Government Code, no variance can be granted without the concurring vote of at least seventy-five (75) percent of the members of the Board.
