06/19/17 ~ City of Blue Mound Regular Council Meeting & Public Hearing


The City Council of the City of Blue Mound will hold a Regular City Council Meeting and Public Hearing on Monday, June 19, 2017 in the City Hall Council Chambers at 301 Blue Mound Road at 7:00 P.M. for the following agenda:

1.    Call to Order / Invocation / Announcements

2.       Citizens Participation (Limit to 3 Minutes – Complete Speakers request form 
          and Submit to City Secretary prior to the start of meeting)

3.   Public Hearing on Adoption of Ordinance No. 515 Proposed by the City of Blue
      Mound to Reenact Hours of Curfew for Children

Public Hearing Open:

Receive public comments regarding proposed reenactment of hours of 
curfew for Children

4.       Discuss and Consider Ordinance No. 515 Reenacting Hours of Curfew for 
          Children 

5.       Discuss and Consider Allowing Opening of the Bar-B-Q Stand by Derrick
          King

6.       Discuss and Consider Proclamation to Designate the Week of May 21st 
           – May 27th as Emergency Medical Services Week in the City of Blue 
          Mound

7.       MedStar Update – Appearance by Richard Brooks (Ceremonial Signatures
          of Mayor Hooks & Kathryn Sanchez)

8.       Discuss and Consider Request of Employment Reinstatement by Linda Watson

9.       Discuss and Consider Open House for the 60 Year Anniversary of the Founding
          of the City of Blue Mound / Fall Festival

10.   Discuss and Consider Editing the Employee Handbook “Page 58” Concerning 
        Employee Accrued Vacation & Holiday Time to Reflect in Part with Previous
        Decision Made by the Council on October 19, 2015 with a Vote of 5 to 0 in 
         Approval of Placing a Cap of 240 Hours for Vacation Time
  
11.   Discuss and Consider Appointing Christopher Jones as the Associate Judge
        for the Municipal Court

12.   Discuss Water Department Rate Increase

13.   Discuss and Consider Departmental Monthly Reports for May, 2017

A.  Police calls, arrests, and warrants totals
B.  Fire local and mutual aid calls and training totals
C.  Library visitors, books and materials loaned totals
D.  Community center, visitors, events, and activities totals
E.  Public Works

14.   Discuss and Consider Approval of May, 2017 Accounts Payable

15.   Discuss and Consider Approval of May 15, 2017 Meeting Minutes

16.   Adjourn


Note: The City Council reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during the course of this meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized by the Texas Government Code, Section 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney), 551.072 (Deliberations about Real Property), 551.073 (Deliberations about Gifts and Donations), 551.074 (Personnel Matters), 551.076 (Deliberations about Security Devices) and 551.087 (Economic Development).
